Code of Conduct, policies and principles

We continue to widely communicate our policies and standards to employees worldwide to ensure awareness and understanding of our commitments.

Listed here are our Group codes, policies and principles that are relevant to our corporate responsibility.

These are supported
by internal standards and guidelines that help our people to understand
the detail of what our high level commitments mean in practice.

Everyone at AstraZeneca is required to be aware of, and conduct their activities in accordance with our Code of Conduct and all supporting policies and applicable codes, and the laws and regulations of the countries in which we work and do business. Our commitment includes operating to the highest of the standards required by these various authorities. Managers are responsible for promoting awareness and supervising compliance by their teams, and for providing assurance on these matters to the AstraZeneca Board.

New members of the AstraZeneca Group
During the year, we completed two major acquisitions - MedImmune and Arrow Therapeutics. As part of the due diligence process, we worked to identify and review potential reputational risks, including CR-related issues such as patient safety, sales and marketing practice; safety, health and environment, employment principles and overall culture.

We continue to work with new members of the AstraZeneca Group to ensure that our CR expectations are understood and that policies and standards are aligned. Given the scope and complexity of the task, this will take time and we are taking the pragmatic approach of reviewing first the relevant areas included in our CR Priority Action Plan.
