The objective of the New Opportunities is to deliver a successful portfolio of new treatment options from areas outside our current Therapy Area focus.

The cross functional New Opportunities team identifies, evaluates and secures new business, which will enhance the value and performance of AstraZeneca and deliver new treatments to patients in areas of unmet medical need.

- Ophthalmology - Osteoporosis and bone disorders - Wound-healing (including diabetic ulcers) - Cachexia, muscle-wasting and dysfunction - Novel delivery systems applicable to our diseases of current interest
